Apatin, grad i srediste opstine u zapadnoj Backoj, severozapadna
oblast Jugoslavije, lezi na isturenom delu lesne terase, nekadasnjem
ostrvu u prostranoj inundacionoj ravni, opasanoj glavnim tokom i
meandrima Dunava. Apatin je dobio ime po davnasnjoj opatiji, a prvi
put se pominje u 11. veku. Dobro razvijeno zanatstvo od 18. veka
podsticalo je razvoj industrije. Danas je srediste brodogradnje,
tekstilne, prehrambene, drvne industrije, a narocito lova, ribolova
i turizma.
Apatin, a town and municipality center of west Backa, placed at north-west region of Yugoslavia on the former island, is sorounded with main river stream and with lot of Danube meanders. Apatin got its name from a very old "Opaty", and with taht name is mentioned first time in 11th century. Good developed handcraft from 18th century was a basis for industrial development. Today it is a center of yardship, textil, food, wood industry and specialy of hunting, fishing and tourism. |
| U okviru Kulturnog centra Apatin deluje galerija "MEANDER", koja priredjuje izlozbe iz savremene likovne umetnosti. Pored samostalnih izlozbi jugoslovenskih autora, priredila je grupne izlozbe kojima je ukazala na neka kretanja i probleme u aktuelnoj likovnoj umetnosti ("Geometrijske tentdencije dana", "Ka monohromiji", "Slika-prostor", "Svedene forme", "Pikturalni apostrof u keramoplastici" i dr.) Inside Cultural Center of Apatin there is the Gallery "MEANDER" which organizes exhibitions of contemporarily arts. Besides standalone exhibitions of Yugoslav artists, there are also group exhibitions which shows us some movements and problems in actaul art ("Geometrycal tendencies of the day", "To monochromia", "Painting-space", "Forms", "Ceramoplastics" etc.) |

| Kulturni centar Apatin organizator je "Vajarskog susreta Meander" u kome se okupljaju domaci i strani vajari da bi u Brodogradilistu "Apatin" uradili skulpture. Uz pomoc vestih majstora umetnici oblikuju materijal kao izazov forme jednostavnog, sazetog resenja. | Cultural Center of Apatin is an organizer of "Meander Gathering Of Sculptors" where participate domestic and foreign sculptors which target is making sculptures in Yardship "Apatin". With a help of skilled workers artists are shaping material like a chalenge of simplicity. |
